Year 7 First Impressions

First impressions of Year 7 pupils who started at Ysgol Harri Tudur in September 2021

I am really enjoying secondary school. The teachers are really great and everyone helps you understand.

I really like the library as there are a lot of books. It was a bit scary at first, but not anymore. All of the teachers are really nice.

Fun! Not stressful, exciting work, work isn’t too hard. I’ve had a growth mindset and I’m loving school!

Secondary school is great! On the first day I was a bit worried but a week later it feels like I have been here forever. The library is so amazing and the teachers so kind. I miss my old teachers and some friends, but having a great school makes everything better. It looks massive from the outside, but once you get inside, it’s not so much.

I like how you don’t have to stay in one room all the time and how there are multiple teachers and subjects.

I can’t wait to do another experiment in Science.

I love art and am developing new skills.

PE is great.

My mentor and class are really easy to find. I’ve made new friends in my class and I’m really excited about the new things we are going to learn.

There have been lots of opportunities to make new friends at breaktime.

We’ve been introduced to new things slowly to not add stress.

I’ve attempted lots of new skills, met up with old friends and made lots of new friends.

I was really worried and scared but now I’m here and really enjoying it. I have a very nice mentor and I’ve made friends in my class.

I was worried that the school would be full of bullies but I haven’t seen any.

I was worried about getting lost but staff are really helpful. I was worried about getting bullied but I haven’t been.

There are so many clubs in school.

It’s surprisingly easy to manoeuvre around school.

The food is delicious!
