Kick the habit  |  Ysgol Harri Tudur anti-smoking support scheme featured on BBC News

A scheme in Ysgol Harri Tudur aimed at helping smokers quit has been featured on BBC News. Ex-smoker Emma Howard was quoted by the BBC in the article:

"It was a shock to be honest with you, I didn't expect them [school staff] to say, 'look we are going to help you'," Emma said.

"I expected them to say, 'there is a punishment, so if you do this then you're wrong and you're naughty', and I just think it was amazing that the staff actually helped us."

Wonderful Work  |  Year 9 Geography Work on the European Union

As part of the Geography Department's 'learning log' assignments, some pupils have chosen to focus on the European Union.  The subject is currently a hot topic in the media and this gave pupils a chance to independently research and make up their own minds about the role of the European Union. Pupils were asked to present both sides of the argument in an imaginative way. Our Wonderful Work page showcases some excellent work by Millie Harris in Year 9 which exemplifies how our geographers in Ysgol Harri Tudur/Henry Tudor school really enjoy getting involved in current affairs and 'geography in the news'.
